Many saints, sages, scholars, ascetic great men have appeared on the holy land of India who transformed the minds through their good deeds and gave a unique philosophy of life. Through his incomparable knowledge, karma and detachment, he spread devotion in the lives of people and gave them a glimpse of the truth by making them self-aware. One such ascetic, righteous and endowed with miraculous powers was Shri Shri 1008 Shri Moji Das Ji Maharaj. Deen Dayal and kind-hearted Shri Moji Baba was born in the Jangid family in village Khakholi, Tehsil Didwana, District Nagaur. His father's name was Shri Tilok Ji Jangid and mother's name was Smt. Dalu Devi. His father was a lover of religion, karma, and rich personality and his mother was a well-behaved woman devoted to her husband. His mother was the daughter of Ganga Ram Ji Rosawan Jogid, a resident of Sardarpura Khurd. Shri Moji Baba Ji had two brothers and one sister, namely Shri Kistur Mal Ji, Shri Mohan Lal Ji Kinja and Smt. Soni Devi. Baba Saheb was born on a moonlit night of Bhadwa (Shukla Paksha) on the Baras-Teras tithi, mid-Brahma muhurta at 4:05 am in Vikram era 1959 in Tilok Ji Jangid family from the womb of Daludevi. He was named Hira Lal Jangid. By his name Hira Lal, he started shining and sparkling like a diamond since childhood. He was a mine of virtues since childhood. Swami Ji got his values mainly from his parents. Very intelligent Hiralal used to help his father in his furniture business. But since childhood, the feeling of Hari Bhajan Kirtan used to stir in him. Finally, the conscience showed its magic and devotion in the form of renunciation started sprouting from Hiralal's heart. He was married to Shrimati Lakshmi Devi, daughter of Shri Kushal Ji Jogid, resident of Daulatpura (Didbana) and in the courtyard of his household, two sons Ratna Shri Mota Ram Ji and Shri Madan Lal Ji Jangid and two daughters Kesar Bai and Gyarsi Bai were born.
There is a saying that the yoga of a yogi can be corrupted but never destroyed. This saying is true for Sant Shiromani Moji Mahesh Ji. Moji Baba alias Hiralal Ji's maternal uncle Jawan Ji of Sardarpura took him to Bhusaval (Maharashtra). He used to work in furniture business there. Hence Hiralal alias Moji Baba also started working in the furniture business. The owner of the furniture business factory was very sad. Because he had no children. Who could take care of the business and take the lineage forward. One day Hiralal Ji seeing the sad Seth asked Seth Ji why are you so worried. Seth said - Hiralal Ji, I do not have children. Who will become the owner of this wealth in future. Who will take my lineage forward. I remain sad thinking this. Hiralal Ji asked Seth for two coconut shells and incense sticks. Then after performing havan of coconut shells, he lit incense sticks and gave the havan bhabhuti to Seth and said. Go Seth, mix this Bhabhuti in water and give it to your wife to drink. Bhole Baba will give you a son. As per the Hawan Bhabhuti and Hiralalji's words, a wonderful miracle happened and the wife of the Seth conceived and after nine months, she gave birth to a son. Sethji's happiness knew no bounds. He told Hiralal Ji to take whatever he wanted, money, clothes, plots etc. Hiralal Ji said - I will tell you tomorrow morning. By the grace of Bhole Baba, devotion started to blossom. Renunciation arose in Hiralal Ji's heart. He left Bhusaval (Maharashtra) at midnight and reached Khakholi village. He left the tools, clothes and all the belongings for making furniture there and came back. He became calm and observed silence. After a few days, devotional renunciation arose again and he started dancing and singing in emotion. Devotion emanated from every pore of his body and started shining in the world. Sometimes he started dancing and singing at the monastery, sometimes in the corridors, sometimes in the fields, sometimes in the temple. One day, taking the form of Lord Shankar himself, Pandit Chhotu Ram's son Girdhari, who was 1 year old, in his lap, climbed the Khakholi monastery and started dancing on the mudra. Girdhari's grandmother got scared and said to Hiralal - Hiralal Girdhari is hungry, please give him milk (feed him). Baba Saheb started saying - my mother, he is Hanuman, Bajrangbali. No one should harm him. Then Baba Saheb gave him to his grandmother. Girdhari grew up to become a famous scholar and Pandit and he himself had the feeling of Shri Balaji. In this step of devotion, he used to wear a crown from the temple of Shankar Bhagwan in Chhatri and climb the well and dance and sing praises of God, sometimes he used to take the form of Krishna and play a sweet flute. The miracle of devotion of Hiralal kept increasing day by day. On seeing the various forms of God and listening to the sweet knowledge, the listeners would get mesmerized and immersed in the bhakti raaj and would praise Hiralal as a devotee.
One day a wicked person of the village insulted him by using foul language. Then Hiralal Mastana Moji in anger threatened to burn down the village Khakholi. He started roaming around in the tune of renunciation. Then this person along with the villagers told his uncle Tansukh Ji -
Hiralal will burn the village. So tie him up. Tansukh Ji and brother Kistur Mal Ji together caught Hiralal Ji and tied him with an iron rope used to tie camels under a neem tree in the enclosure and locked him up. He remained tied there for a month. They would give him food and to finish his daily chores they would untie the iron rope and tie him up again. Even at that time Moji Baba (Hiralal) would sit there and make a mud temple and make a cave nearby to do bhajans and sit in it and keep doing bhajans. One day uncle Tansukh Ji and brother Kistur Ji went to Hiralal and said - Hiralal we are now freeing you from the rope. But do not trouble the villagers. Hiralal Moji Baba said - Uncle I have kept you under the rules otherwise God is so kind that even the locks of the jail open in the blink of an eye. Then what is the status of the iron rope. Hearing this, Hiralal was released from bondage.
Once, on the night of the full moon, a grand program of Bhajan Kirtan was being organized in the holy presence of Sant Shiromani Sanyasi Maan Das Ji Maharaj, a resident of Sangliya, in Kareri village. Shri Maan Das Ji Maharaj was sitting on the seat and doing Satsang. At around 11 o'clock in the night, Hiralal (Moji Baba) reached there, bowed to Maan Das Ji and sat near the seat and after some time he humbly requested Maharaj Shri to take him under his protection. On Hiralal Ji's request, Maan Das Ji Maharaj looked at him and after thinking for a while said that you are all powerful, you have the power that I cannot bear. Therefore, you go to Fogdi tomorrow and place a stone at the place of my Guru. Sit on it according to the rituals of the saints, take a bath and purify yourself and come to the Sangataniya soon. Hiralal Ji did the same as per the instructions of Shri Man Das Ji Maharaj. After reaching Fogdi, he shaved his head and as soon as he sat on the rock as per the rituals, the divine power performed a wonderful miracle and due to the effect of that divine power, he fell 5 feet away. Then again with his pure accumulated devotion, he bowed down and worshipped the divine rock and sat on the same rock and took a bath. Wearing new clothes, with music and dance, he reached Sangliya Dhuni via Khakholi village. After taking initiation into the Sanyas circle from Shri Sant Shiromani Maan Das Ji Maharaj, he wore saffron clothes for the welfare of the people and moved forward on the path of devotion. By going on pilgrimages all over the country, he spread devotion among the people and while doing public welfare work, he dedicated his human life by selflessly putting it on the right path.
Due to his carefree mind and being engrossed in Bhajans, he became famous among his devotees as Hiralal, Moji Das Baba and then Moji Baba. It is known from the mouth of his devotees that he was the incarnation of Lord Shiva. He had the wonderful experience of Shiva Darshan in his heart. Therefore, his devotees call him Baba Moji Mahesh. Baba Moji Mahesh showed the pure and simple path of salvation to his devotees by doing Satsang through public welfare, numerous sermons, bhajans, Sorathas, Vachanavali and songs etc. He inscribed the divine sanskars like reciting the name of God, serving others, selfless deeds, yoga and asanas etc. on the minds of his devotees. He opened the doors of salvation forever for the benefit of saints who believed in simple devotion. He did Aghor Tapasya by doing Dhuna Chetan in different parts of the country and saved the devotees by treating them. He also saved the people by doing Tapasya in Nepal and other countries. In every corner of the world, devotees meditate and remember his greatness. They make their lives successful by serving the public. Even today, many of his disciples, saints and devotees follow the path shown by him and serve the world selflessly.
